Healthcare reform is mostly lead by a handful of Congressman that have been assigned by Congress.  There are basically three types of committees, one - designing benefits, two - reviewing underwriting and pricing principles and three - figuring out how and who will pay for it.  Much detail, even at this late date is still not being revealed because they have not figured it out yet.  Once the committees get their act together, they recommend to Congress a plan of action and then vote on the issues.

The Ted Kennedy's 600+ page healthcare reform bill is now being revised and it should be completed in July.  There a couple of other health reform bills, however they have not yet been merged with Ted Kennedy's bill.

As of July, the government wants to force Employers to pay for healthcare for all employees (full and part time), including paying for Medicaid, for low income employees hired ... new taxes.  So get ready to pay ...

Government healthcare reform as it sits right now, presents a radical change, higher cost, focusing on scrapping 100% of the insurance industry to insure the 15% that is uninsured.  80% of the uninsured could have insurance if they wanted to, they simply choose not to enroll and pay, leaving 3% truly uninsured.

Tim will be traveling to Washington in July for the last meetings prior to Congress voting on healthcare reform.  Please contact your Legislator and tell them that we need to control cost without the government taking over healthcare.

If government wants to show us that they can control cost and offer health coverage, we suggest they start with Medicaid, Medicare and your local health department.  Those government run programs are literally a train wreck.

If you have questions concerning healthcare reform, please call Tim personally at 904.287.0848 ext.11

Health Insurance is expensive because healthcare is expensive.  Let us work on the cost, not government control.
