Tim and Wendy Owen

Prior to becoming husband and wife and business partners, Tim and Wendy were competitors. The rest is history. They now are a dynamic and unbeatable team.

As a past Fortune 500 executive and Professional Sales Trainer, Tim ran an HMO in Jacksonville, Florida, owned by two of the largest hospitals. Tim is a certified underwriter, legislative delegate, and professional negotiator and has been in the business since 1983.

Wendy ran a premier insurance agency in Orlando Florida, specializing in large group cases. She also underwrites, negotiates and has been a revered leader since 1988. Wendy oversees the O&A administrative staff and if you ask her what her passion is, she will tell you serving clients.

The O&A T.E.A.M.

A cliché that has stood the test of time: Together Everyone Achieves More is the corporate O&A philosophy. We believe in hiring positive attitudes and aptitude. Every team member has an extensive and energetic level of experience. Our licensed employees must meet the O&A Gold Standards of Continued Education and deliver only their best. We all believe in serving out of passion, not profit.

News
The Healthcare Reform Bill is well on it's way toward implementation.

If your head is spinning a little, don't worry, that's normal for most Americans.  We will recap some of the highlights for you in this update.

Many elements are phased in over the next eight years. Those that are most immediate and are expected to occur in 2010 are:
  • Tax credits for certain small businesses.
  • Elimination of pre-existing condition
  • An increase in dependent coverage to age 26.
  • Creation of a temporary reinsurance program to provide coverage for retirees over 55 who are not eligible for Medicare.
  • The further creation of a temporary national high risk insurance pool for uninsured's
  • The prohibition of lifetime limits on benefit payments
  • Closing the so called “doughnut hole” by providing immediate tax credits for Medicare patients who face a gap in prescription drug coverage.
We are providing details so that our clients know what to do every step of the way.

The real impact in the health insurance system won’t occur until the year 2014.  During the interim, there will be the phase-in of additional new taxes that will provide added government revenue to pay for these changes. The four most significant changes occurring in 2014 are:
  • Insurers will be required to take all applicants.
  • Insurance will be mandated for all Americans.
  • Tax credits to help pay premiums will start flowing to middle-class working families. The most aid – including help with co-payments and deductibles – will be made available for those individuals and families on the lower end of the income scale.
  • Insurance exchanges will be created to help administer subsidies for those individuals that require them.
In the mean time, If you have questions or concerns on healthcare reform, please call Tim personally. And as always, please let our leaders know what you think of this new bill. It really does make a difference!
